Alex and Tara were first introduced by their mutual friends, who happen to be dating. They all went out together and the future husband and wife shared a kiss but didn’t expect it to go any further, as Alex was living in Leeds and Tara was based in Manchester.
They stayed in touch and became close friends. The next time they met up they realised they had to make it work, regardless of distance. Alex formally asked Tara to go out with him in the romantic setting of his parents’ shed, and they spent the next few years commuting to each other at weekends.
After nine years together and finally living in the same place, Alex proposed to Tara whilst on holiday in Antigua, with a beautiful marquise diamond ring. They drank champagne, ate amazing food and shared a dance to Etta James’s ‘At Last’, which would become the first dance at their wedding.
