Stacey & Alisdair’s Real Wedding

Stacey and Alisdair met over four years ago, at a mutual friend’s birthday party. After three and a half years together, Alisdair decided to make Stacey his wife, and after carrying the ring around for two weeks, he proposed outside the Town Hall in Birmingham City Centre.

Stacey had three bridesmaids. She chose her two best friends from university, Laura and Katrin, and her best friend from childhood, Becky. She chose not to have a maid of honour as she felt unable to choose between the three of them.

The bridesmaid dresses were ordered from, and were floor length, strapless, chiffon, empire line gowns, with a silk sash. They were the same colour as the green in Alisdair’s tartan, and matched the cravats of the groomsmen. Stacey made the final decision when it came to the dresses, but sent pictures to her friends so they could give their opinions.

The girls chose their own shoes and accessories to go with the dresses, so they would feel comfortable and able to incorporate their own style.
