Sarah’s mum made the traditional three tier fruit cake, and it was decorated by one of her friends. The cake was served with Wensleydale cheese, as it is a Yorkshire tradtion, however some of the French guests weren’t a fan of this arrangement!
Mervin’s dad also provided some Mauritian wedding cakes called Napolitaines, so there was something for everyone to enjoy.
Mervin and Sarah spent ages trying to find the perfect cake topper for their wedding cake, but they found a mixed race cake topper was hard to find. As a surprise, Sarah’s mum had one made to look like them out of marzipan – the couple found this hilarious and enjoyed posing next to it!
Following the wedding, the new husband and wife spent some time with Mervin’s family who’d travelled from Mauritius, before jetting off to Turkey for some well-deserved time together as husband and wife.
