Mervin and Sarah became husband and wife in a traditional church ceremony at the Holy Trinity Parish Church in Idle. It’s the same church Sarah’s parents, grandparents, aunt and uncle and cousin all got married in, so it’s something of a family tradition. The couple brought their own vicar to add a personal touch to the proceedings.
Sarah walked down the aisle with her father to the classic Bridal March, and the wedding party sang hymns. Mervin’s father and Sarah’s room-mate from uni both did readings. The couple exchanged rings, with Sarah wearing the ring her grandmother had worn for more than forty years before, and were pronounced husband and wife!
The newlyweds and their wedding party then travelled to Kirkstall Abbey in Leeds, on a vintage bus from Geldards Coaches, where they mingled and posed for photos amongst the Abbey’s ruins.
