Mervin and Sarah first crossed paths when she was working as a language assistant in Paris on her year abroad from uni, and Mervin was a student at the same place. They stayed in the same hostel and became friends.
They lived in different cities for the next ten years but always kept in touch. In 2011, Mervin came to Paris and instead of going out for a drink, Sarah invited him over for dinner, and everything changed.
After that fateful dinner, the couple were together for a eighteen months before Mervin proposed. He planned his proposal whilst he was working in the Egyptian desert, and got Sarah’s parents’ permission. He got down on one knee on a deserted beach at sunset whilst they were celebrating Sarah’s birthday in St. Malo. Mervin had put a lot of time and effort into picking the perfect ring for his bride, and it paid off. It was time to plan a wedding!
