The bride’s mum made the couple’s wedding cake. She had never made a wedding cake before, but as she makes such incredible Christmas cakes Daniel and Roberta were confident she could rise to the challenge.
There was a classic fruit tier, a sponge tier and a carrot cake tier to make sure there was something for everyone.
The traditional wedding cake was covered in smooth white icing and decorated with subtle bands of diamantes. The bride and groom’s initials topped the cake, and Roberta’s mum moulded three little mice holding wedding related items, which were placed on the cake.
Following their family themed, DIY wedding, Daniel and Roberta had a mini-moon in the Lake District where they enjoyed sipping champagne in a hot tub! They plan to take their first big holiday as husband and wife to Thailand next year.
