Rebecca’s brother Richard made the wedding cake. It had tree tiers with candy stripes running down them as well as flowers made from icing in between each layer. They had a bespoke cake topper made from ‘Just Toppers’ sitting on top of the cake which was of Rebecca in her dress and Alan in his fire uniform. The cake was cut during the evening reception and put out onto the buffet.
Alan and Rebecca took dance lessons in Leicester before the wedding so for their first dance they did a foxtrot followed by a jive which was a lovely surprise for everyone to watch.
The newlywed couple were due to go on a Caribbean cruise for their honeymoon the day after the wedding, but due to the unfortunate eruption of the Volcano in Iceland their flight was cancelled. Instead they went away to Tenby for a week before re-booking an African Safari for the end of May.
Rebecca and Alan said that they would not have changed a thing about their wedding day. They just wished that the day would have lasted longer!!
