A true whirlwind romance, Nikki and Tom were together for just six weeks before they got engaged. Within the year, the couple had planned a gorgeous vintage ceremony, which took place at Glastonbury Town Hall, complete with a 1950s ‘Make Do and Mend’ theme and lots of sunflowers!

The newlyweds met at a volunteer weekend for young adults with learning disabilities, run by the Volunteer Network and National Trust, where they were both trainee stewards.
After six weeks together, Tom went to the shop one Saturday morning to buy a lottery ticket, whilst Nikki made breakfast. He came back and presented her with the ticket, asking if she’d marry him if they won. Nikki told him she would, and thinking nothing more of it, continued making breakfast.
That evening, at a family Christmas get together, Tom asked Nikki if she meant what she said. They were outside, looking at the moon, and when she turned around, Tom was down on one knee. He said: “If money is all that is holding us back then what are we waiting for? Life is too short.” Nikki was thrilled and accepted his proposal. They spent the next 10 months planning.
