Nicola was walked down the aisle by her father at their family church to the sound of the Military Wives Choir singing ‘Wherever You Are’. She picked this song as Adam had once given her a bracelet engrave with the lyrics, and on the morning of the wedding she gave him a rope bracelet with an engrave pendant with the words ‘Wherever you are, you will always be in my heart’. It was a very emotional gesture.
The bride carried a beautiful bouquet of English roses (for Adam) and Scottish thistles in blue and white shades, bought from Garlands.
Nicola’s cousin Jennifer did a reading called ‘Loving a Sailor’, and the couple’s friend Kate read out something about sailing boats that pass in the night. The wedding party sang a mix of modern and classic hymns before Adam and Nicola exchanged vows and rings.
