The couple had been together for five years, and living together for two, when Mark decided to ask Megan to be his wife. Knowing how close she is to her family, Mark made sure he got her father’s permission, and took her two sisters along when he chose the ring.
The next step was to arrange a surprise holiday. Megan knew they were going away, and her sisters hinted it was a trip to Skegness! She was pretty relieved to find herself in Rome, and that relief turned to surprise and delight when Mark got down on one knee on the second night of their trip, in front of the illuminated fountains at St Peter’s Square.
Megan accepted, and the excited couple received an impromptu round of applause from the tourists that had congregated!
They were engaged for just over two years before marrying in a beautiful and traditional wedding in the New Forest.
