Louise and Steven’s wedding took place on a sandy beach on the island of Acklins in the Bahamas at 4pm. Even though they had only invited one other couple to witness their nuptials, Steven and Louise had around 70 local guests watch their romantic beach wedding ceremony. Louise walked down the sandy aisle in her Tia by Benjamin Roberts wedding dress to the sounds of ‘Dream of the Dolphin’ by Enigma and met Steven in a gazebo before their ceremony began.
Steven and Louise were married by a local pastor who was 80 years old. The couple had written their own vows exchanged rings from Goldsmiths which again was part of their wedding prize, courtesy of the Bahamas Tourist Board. As the newlywed couple walked back down the aisle, lined with conch shells, everyone threw rice at them as a symbol of good luck. Steven and Louise were the first non-islanders to get married on Acklins which has a population of just 400 people!
