Choosing the dress was such an exciting part of the wedding planning for Leigh. She booked appointments at House of Fraser and Selfridges on the same day and invited her sister, sister-in-law to be and mother-in-law to be to come along for the viewing. Leigh liked a couple of dresses that she tried on at House of Fraser but it wasn’t until she went to Selfridges where she found ‘the one’. Leigh knew instantly and it was confirmed when she came out of the dressing room to show everyone. Leigh’s mother-in-law straight away said ‘put it in the box, we’ll take it!’ The dress was created by Vera Wang and came with a price tag a little over budget. After going back to the dress on a further 3 times Leigh finally put a deposit down.
The dress was classic with a modern twist. Made from taffeta and ivory in colour it was mermaid style with a crumb catcher neckline. Leigh was delighted with her dress and was so glad that they could stretch their budget to afford it! It was Leigh’s birthday a month before the wedding and Billy bought her a single pearl necklace and earrings to match which she wore to complement her dress on the day.
