A Rustic Barn Wedding and a Pet Dog at Tower Hill Barns, Wales

Adam and Leanne’s story began almost five years ago. After being friends on Facebook for a number of years through a mutual friend, they eventually met on a night out and the sparks were undeniable.

Adam and Leanne’s story began almost five years ago. After being friends on Facebook for a number of years through a mutual friend, they eventually met on a night out and the sparks were undeniable.

Leanne and Adam’s Romantic Summer Wedding

After being together for a magical three and a half years, the real magic happened. Adam proposed to Leanne on a family holiday in the stunning setting of Palma, Mallorca.

They were holidaying with Adam’s parents and Leanne had absolutely no idea that the big question was coming. Adam was drinking slightly more than normal for some dutch courage, unbeknown to his girlfriend.

His parents were persistently trying to get Leanne to walk home with Adam, and so was he – but she wouldn’t budge. Her feet hurt, she was tired and cold and absolutely insisted she was getting a taxi home.

Despite all of this, Adam managed to make the leap and ask Leanne to be his wife.

When the couple first got engaged, their plan was to wait a few years until they got married, but it didn’t take long for Leanne and Adam to figure out that they wanted this wedding to happen sooner rather than later.

The couple were engaged for just over 12 months before they eventually tied the knot at their gorgeous rustic wedding on the 3rd June 2016 in the scenic Welsh countryside.

The Custom Made Engagement Ring

The ring that Adam chose for Leanne couldn’t have been received in a better way.

The bride always teased her other half with images and pages of her favourite jewellers, pointing out rings that she loved which were considerably over budget.

This was a habit of Leanne’s for a while until one day she and Adam walked past a particularly nice jewellers, and there it was, her dream engagement ring.

Adam searched the internet high and low for the ring, until he decided to get personal and get the ring made specifically for his bride to be.

It was almost identical to the one Leanne saw, but better. The gorgeous piece of jewellery was platinum with a shoulder setting and a single stone exposed central diamond.

Needless to say, Leanne absolutely adores the ring and wears it with pride every day, and loved showing it off during her ceremony.

The couple were accompanied by their pet dog Fergie at their ceremony – cute!

Leanne walked down the aisle to Ben Howard – Only Love, followed by her younger brother, flower girl and Fergie, the dog.

The civil ceremony and wedding reception took place all at the same place, Tower Hill Barns. They didn’t like the idea of people moving around on the day and wanted everyone to be in the same place throughout their entire wedding.

Tower Hill Barns Wedding Venue

Adam and Leanne got married at Tower Hill Barn near Llangollen in North Wales. The venue looked over Welsh hills and was surrounded by scenic fields of sheep.

It had recently been recently refurbished so it had the modern yet rustic look that the couple dreamt of and required hardy any decorating which was a huge bonus.

They decided that this venue was the one before they even got inside. As soon as they pulled up to the gates, they knew.

The couple loved how fresh and crisp everything was and a big selling point for them was that the venue was situated just five minutes from where they lived and was only a short walk distance for most of their family and friends.

A fabulous feature this venue had was its ability to open up an area which brought the indoors and outdoors together, giving Adam and Leanne’s guests plenty of choice and room to mingle and flow really well.

The food was also another thing which went down really well.

They had:

Starter: Cheese and ham tartlet with side salad and sweet onion chutney.

Main: Chicken breast wrapped in Parma ham, served with fondant potatoes, tender stem broccoli and asparagus, with a Madeira sauce.

Desert: Wedding Cake.

Night Time Snack: Chicken and fish goujons with chips.

Leanne’s Stunning Embroidered Wedding Dress

Leanne brought a gorgeous A-line wedding dress which was covered in embroidery and lace. After buying the dress, the fear kicked in and she began to feel like she rushed the picking process.

Later, the regret started and she went back to the shop to try on her wedding dress again, only to realise it wasn’t the one.

She saw another dress on the boutiques website and knew she had to try it, which she eventually did.

When this happened, Leanne instantly fell in love with the Ronald Joyce dress from Karen Lesley Bridal Emporium and knew she had to have it.

It was completely different from what she’d imagined her wedding dress would look like but it flattered her figure and she had never felt so good.

The bride only went to one bridal shop to pick her wedding dress as it had always held a place in her heart. It was the same shop where she’d bought her high school prom dress from seven years ago so there was no doubt in her mind that this was the shop for her.

In total, Leanne tried on about 12 dresses in total during her wedding dress search and accompanied her final choice with a two tier embroidered veil for the ceremony and an embellished hair comb for the reception.

She also wore some sentimental jewellery in the form of a matching diamond necklace and earring set given to her by her grandparents, and a bracelet also given to her by her grandparents for her 18th birthday.

Leanne’s Gorgeous Bridal Beauty Regime

Wedding beauty is important to any bride, including Leanne. She chose Head Office Hair Studios in Wrexham for her wedding hair and Sophia Bailey freelance Makeup for her beauty.

Leanne had so much faith in the suppliers that she chose, she only had one trial run with each of them.

She had natural makeup and her hairstyle was a half up half down as because she always wore her hair down and wanted it to look more ‘bridal’. The hair was curled and the top half was back combed for volume and pinned backwards with a beautiful side fishtail plait to finish the look off.

The couple had four bridesmaids at their wedding, Leanne’s four best friends, and one flower girl, her maid of honour’s daughter.

The girls wore maxi dresses from monsoon which were in a mauve colour and had grey embellishment.

Leanne wanted a classy and elegant look and thought they all looked flawless. They had their hair up in matching styles with bits of gypsophila dotted around.

The bride and her bridesmaids chose the dresses together on a girly shopping trip. They picked out a bunch of styles to try on and the girls chose Leanne’s favourite.

Adam and his groomsmen wore a three piece grey suit from Next with a white shirt and mauve tie. The couple spent months and months trying to find the perfect colour, until they eventually hit the jackpot whilst searching in Burton menswear.

The Beautiful Wedding Flowers

The wedding flowers were something that the bride loved planning as she has a real thing for flowers.

Leanne’s bouquet was amnesia, pink and white roses, all surrounded by a stunning array of gypsophila, which matched that in the bridesmaids hairstyles.

The bride’s love for flowers meant they were most definitely used to spice up the venue. She had them everywhere, on the tables, down the aisle and even by the register table.

Her stunning floristry arrangements were made possible by Flowers in the Window in Wrexham.

The couple had a flare for special touches at their wedding and proved it with their attention to detail. The wedding favours that each guest received were a jam jar filled with personalised m&m’s and wooden place names that each person got to take home.

The centrepieces were birch bark vases filled with gypsophila and roses and each table had scattered dusty purple rose petals as their decoration.

To keep guests busy before the reception the couple also organised for there to be a photo booth there so that everyone could enjoy making memories at their wedding.

They also had a sweets buffet which Leanne coordinated herself and her cake maker added some cake pops in the colour scheme to finish it off.

The Couple’s Rustic Wedding Cake

The couple’s wedding cake was a four tiered Victoria sponge cake. Because of their rustic theme, they decided to go with the trend of naked wedding cakes and it looked gorgeous.

The pink, mauve and grey roses which it’s decorated with fit in perfectly with the colour scheme that the couple wanted.

As a special and personal touch, the top of the cake was decorated with icing figures of Leanne, Adam and their beloved dog Fergie.

Their wedding guests were in for a real treat when they found out the married couple had decided to serve wedding cake as the dessert after the wedding breakfast.

The cake was made by a local baker, Marie. They chose her as she had made lots of cakes in the past for the couple on other special occasions, and she did a fantastic job.

Another way the couple entertained their guests after the wedding breakfast was with a fabulous wedding DJ.

They had seen her perform and entertain parties at other weddings and loved her vibe and the presence she had, so they decided to book her.

They chose a DJ because the couple see weddings as a time for guests to catch up with each other and didn’t want too much going on – it just wasn’t them.

When it came time for their romantic first dance, they blessed their marriage to the wonderful Ed Sheeran – Kiss Me, which was sure to set off a few family members with the waterworks.

They loved seeing everyone enjoying themselve

The Amazing Honeymoon

After having the most perfect wedding day they could have dreamed of, Leanne and Adam flew off on honeymoon to the gorgeous Riviera Maya in Mexico.

It was a first visit for both of them and they had an incredibly relaxing time whilst enjoying some not-surprisingly amazing weather.

They even met another couple out there whose wedding they attended. Adam hung out with the groom, Leanne helped the bride get ready and they attended the wedding.

We can only imagine how helpful this pair were after just having planned their own gorgeous wedding.

Guests at the wedding told Adam and Leanne they had the absolute best time and that it was the most relaxed wedding they had ever been to.

Although they went over their initial budget, the couple assured hitched that there is not one tiny detail that either of them would change.
