Katie & Andrew’s Real Wedding

**Benjamin Roberts Bride of the Month, November 2014** Katie and Andrew celebrated their wedding at the Mercure Dunkenhalgh Hotel surrounded by 91 day time guests and 130 evening guests. The bride chose the perfect dress almost 2 years before her big day but had no regrets as her dress, and the entire wedding day couldn’t have been better.

Christmas Cake

The wedding cake at Katie and Andrews evening celebration fit in with the festive vibe of their day perfectly. The round, three tier cake was filled with chocolate orange, vanilla and carrot cake flavours and was offered for dessert during the evening reception.

Katie and Andrew hired a fantastic DJ, Andy Murphy, after having seen him play at a friend’s wedding earlier in the year. He kept the dance floor full for the whole evening and played a variety of tunes after the newlywed couple danced their first dance to a pre-recorded version cover of Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls. With the help of her brother Sam and a friend Paul who played the drums and another friend Darren, Katie sang the lyrics to the touching tune which played in the background during the first dance.

Katie, Andrew and their two children went on a ‘family-moon’ to Cape Verde Island for 2 weeks. The couple wanted a hot destination for January and chose a location that was child friendly too!

There is nothing that the couple would change about their day, and the only advice they would give, would be to ensure you spend a few minutes alone during the day to embrace the moment!
