Katharine and Walker wanted to say their vows in a meaningful venue. They picked the Winter Gardens at the People’s Palace in Glasgow Green to host their civil ceremony as it was originally built for the people of Glasgow, and chose to WEST Restaurant, Bar and Brewery to hold their reception in. The venues were a short walk from each other and a piper played as guests walked from the large greenhouse where Katharine and Walker exchanged vows to the iconic Templeton building for the sit down meal.
The bride was walked down the aisle by her two brothers as the choir Katharine sings with, the Sirens of Titan, sang ‘Here Comes the Sun’. An old friend of Katharine’s read out Kahil Gibran’s ‘On Marriage’ after the couple exchanged vows. The choir then sang ‘Must Be Love’ and ‘Close To You’ as the couple signed the register and walked out.
