A lifelong family friend, Margaret, created Gareth and Kate’s wedding cake. She is known to be an expert baker and the wedding cake was declared to be ‘the best I’ve ever eaten’ by many of the guests.
It featured a lemon madeira tier, a death by chocolate tier and a traditional fruit cake layer, all covered in white icing and decorated with fresh berries. The cake was cut on the night although there was enough left for it to still be enjoyed at the post-wedding barbecue the next day!
There was lots of entertainment at the wedding – Coral, a budding musician aged just 12, entertained the evening guests as they arrived by playing the keyboard and singing. Then a DJ friend of Gareth’s (who is also a DJ), Matthew, took over, followed by Butterfly Jam soul singers.
They played a live version of ‘You Might Need Somebody’ by Randy Crawford to kick-start the party!
