Kate and Andrew’s wedding cake was served to their guests for dessert. Based on a secret family recipe, Andrew’s mother made a beautiful winter wedding cake to be cut and shared with everyone. The cake was enhanced with white chocolate cigarellos, a blue ribbon and decorated with winter berries that Andrew’s mum had frosted with edible glitter to add a touch of sparkle!
The day after the wedding, Kate and Andrew had a small blessing service at their local village Church and then treated themselves to an extra night in the bridal suite at Shottle Hall. The newlyweds then spent a few days in the Lake District before coming home to spend Christmas with their families. In May, Kate and Andrew had a three week holiday to the Alps where they did lots of skiing and hiking. They travelled by train because they wanted to be as sustainable as possible and stopped off in Paris for four romantic days on the way home.
