Justine and Kire’s wedding cake was made by a friend. They chose a three tier traditional white wedding cake, decorated with calla lilies. Justine also ordered some chocolate cupcakes with ivory icing and purple hearts, so the people who didn’t like fruitcake could also enjoy some cake! The cake was served after the wedding breakfast and with the evening buffet.
Justine and Kire also treated their guests to some special wedding favours, as they took their seats. Each guest received two foil covered Thornton’s chocolate hearts and a lucky sixpence. The sixpence and favour boxes were eBay finds.
The tables were all named after special places in Macedonia, where Kire is from. Justine did this as a thoughtful surprise for her groom and his family, who had never visited England before, so they could feel at home.
