Julia & Steve’s Real Wedding

Julia and Steve celebrated a traditional church ceremony at 1.30pm on the 19th of August, 2011.  They hired a beautiful barn to host their wedding reception and hand-made a lot of the details that were displayed throughout the day.  Steve works for the British Army and therefore the couple decided to weave the Union Jack in to their hot pink wedding colour scheme.

The Cake

Newlyweds Steve and Julia cut through a three tier wedding cake which featured a huge edible pink bow on the top.  And if a slice of cake wasn’t enough, each wedding guest also received a handmade cookie as a wedding favour, featuring an Apache helicopter (to resemble Steve’s job) for the men, and hearts for the ladies.

Julia also painted a tree to place at the reception so that every time a guest walked past they could put their thumbprint on a branch – providing the newlywed couple with a memory to frame and keep forever.

Steve and Julia have yet to travel on their honeymoon due to Steve being back on tour in Afghanistan, but they plan to do something extra special with the precious time that they will eventually have together.
