Joanne and Ben met whilst studying at university, and reconnected several years later. Sparks flew and they were together for two years before getting engaged. They had a traditional church wedding followed by a beautifully elegant reception at Rhinefield House Hotel.
Ben and Joanne’s Stunning Winter Wedding
After living in halls together whilst at university, Joanne and Ben lost touch. They were reconnected by fate when they bumped into each other at a mutual friend’s party and they immediately had a spark.
That was the start of their love story, and two years later they were engaged. Ben was serving overseas with the army on Christmas Day 2013, and promised himself he wouldn’t spent another Christmas apart from Joanne without making her his wife. If they could make it through a six month deployment, they could get through anything together.
The next year on Christmas Day, he kept his promise. The couple were walking up a hill near his parents’ house in North Wales when he got down on one knee and proposed. The ring was perfect – Joanne still stares at it every day in awe.
The engagement was ten months long, which gave them time to plan for the wedding and attend Joanne’s sister’s wedding, which took place in the summer.
