After being set up on a blind date, Jo and Ryan knew that they had something special right from their first meeting. The stylish pair tied the knot in a beautiful countryside wedding at Hedsor House that was everything they dreamed it would be.

Jo and Ryan’s Modern Countryside Wedding

Jo and Ryan met after Jo’s best friend Holly enlisted her work colleague Joe to help set up the then-single Jo on a date.

Joe thought that his friend Ryan would be perfect for Jo, and so he got the pair to swap numbers and arrange a first date.

Joe and Holly’s matchmaking paid off, as Jo and Ryan hit it off straight away and enjoyed an amazing first date filled with cocktails, dinner and urban golf!

Soon, a first date turned into many and the pair became an official couple as their relationship grew from strength to strength.

Two years after they first got together, Ryan decided to pop the big question to Jo – although his first attempt didn’t exactly go to plan!

He had planned to recreate their first date but as the couple had a holiday booked for the following day, his plans were foiled when Jo decided on some essential holiday prep and went to get her nails and fake tan done!

All was not lost however. Ryan arrived home that evening and rang the doorbell, ready to propose, although Jo initially opened the door for him and didn’t notice that he was on one knee!

Finally, Ryan asked Jo to sit down, pulled a bottle of champagne out of the fridge and said that he had been trying to propose all day and would she marry him!

Of course, Jo said yes to her soulmate and was absolutely thrilled with the incredible vintage diamond ring that Ryan had picked out from London’s jewellery quarter,

Jo’s Gorgeous Fit and Flare Wedding Dress

Although she found it to be the hardest part of the wedding planning, Jo eventually found the perfect wedding dress in the form of a stunning, traditional number by Suzanne Neville.

Her long search was well worth the wait, as the dress looked absolutely amazing on her and the fit was perfect – especially as a Suzanne Neville corset was added to the gown for extra shape definition.

The beautiful dress had a classic and flattering fit and flare silhouette, enhanced further with delicate embroidery and chiffon overlay straps for a soft, romantic feel. The finishing touch was a stunning back necklace by Hermione Harbutt.

Jo’s job as a fashion buyer for Kurt Geiger meant that the right accessories were of vital importance, so she opted for a pair of on trend Valentino stud heels in white and a fun speech bubble bag from Sophia Webster.

The classic feel of the dress lent itself well to Jo’s stunning hair and makeup which was styled by Jo Adams of Hair and Makeup Atelier – the finished look was a relaxed updo paired with defined eyes and a pretty pink lip. Jo made the most beautiful bride!

Her mum and bridesmaids also looked the part too. Jo’s mum opted for a stylish outfit from Suzanne Neville, whilst the bridesmaids rocked pale pink gowns in varying styles from Maid to Measure.

Ryan’s Royal Blue Groomswear

As for Jo’s handsome groom, Ryan knew just where to look for his wedding day suit due to the smart dress code of his finance job in the capital.

Ryan had a bespoke suit made from Savile Row designer Mark Morrengo and picked a modern shade of royal blue for the fabric.

The inside of his suit had the couple’s initials embroidered in as well as the date of their wedding day for a romantic touch.

The finished blue suit was paired with a blue Hermes tie, Kurt Geiger shoes and a rose corsage. The groomsmen also wore royal blue suits but with Tommy Hilfiger ties.

A Traditional Wedding Ceremony

The happy couple chose to have a religious wedding ceremony at the St Nicolas church in Taplow, which was local to their venue Hedsor House.

The beautiful church overlooked the village green and had a charming pub opposite – perfect for the English countryside feel of the day.

Although the rest of the wedding included some distinctly modern and fashion forward elements, the religious ceremony allowed Jo and Ryan to retain some tradition in their big day.

When the big moment finally came, Jo was joined by her dad who was ready to walk her down the aisle.
It seemed as though he was more nervous than the bride however, as he found that he was shaking!

Jo hardly noticed though as she was brimming with excitement at the thought of getting married and seeing her hubby to be.

Once Jo and Ryan were declared husband and wife, it was time for the elated couple and their guests to venture to Hedsor House for a delicious wedding breakfast and plenty of partying!

A Beautiful Countryside Wedding Venue

Jo and Ryan knew that Hedsor House was ‘the one’ when they saw it. Finding the perfect venue had been top of their priority list when organising the wedding so that they could plan everything else around that.

The couple fell in love with Hedsor House thanks to its picturesque countryside location and stunning grounds – they were even impressed by the grand driveway which they knew would build up the anticipation for the guests as they arrived!

Another deal clincher for Jo and Ryan was that they saw the house as a blank canvas that was open to personalisation. And they did just that, as their wedding décor was a wonderful reflection of the couple’s personal style.

The party atmosphere was evident as soon as the guests arrived at Hedsor House, as some of the guests were even dancing in their chairs before the wedding breakfast was even served!

Everyone tucked into a delicious meal laid out by Cavendish Events. The feast included tempura prawns for the starter, English beef with creamed potatoes and buttered vegetables for the main, and a trio of tempting desserts for afters.

Jo and Ryan even surprised their guests by arranging to have singing waiters perform during the wedding breakfast! This went down a treat with everyone in the room.

Glamorous Wedding Décor

Jo and Ryan wanted the feel of the day to be a traditional English countryside wedding but with a fashionable twist.

They certainly pulled this off as the classic vibe of the venue worked well with the stunning pink, white and silver colour scheme and décor – which was of course filled with fashion forward elements to reflect Jo and Ryan’s personalities.

As it was a summer wedding, the couple made sure that the flowers took centre stage so that there would be an amazing backdrop for their wedding album.

Enlisting the help of Euphoric Flowers to bring their vision to life, the flowers looked spectacular both in the church, at the reception and in Jo’s rose bouquet.

To incorporate her love of shoes into the day, Jo even got an illustrator, Poppy T Shayakay, to create amazing illustrations of hers and Ryan’s favourite designer shoes which provided incredible table names.

To top it all off, giant light up letters of the happy couple’s initials illuminated the dance floor for a glamorous touch and they provided a photo booth for their guests to have fun with.

As for the favours, Jo and Ryan chose to have sweet ones from the London Marshmallow Company. These consisted of strawberry, cream and vanilla flavoured marshmallows sprayed with silver and coconut.

A Spectacular Pink and Gold Wedding Cake

The wedding cake was absolutely phenomenal, and it fit the glamorous vibe of the reception perfectly.

Designed and made by the talented Ceri from Olofoson Design, she created the cake based on the ideas that Jo sent her.

The finished creation was a grand five tiered spectacle that almost looked too pretty to eat!

Gorgeous ombre ruffles decorated the main part of the cake, which faded from blush pink to a delicate grey colour for a super modern touch.

The top two crowning tiers were decorated with a silver leaf design, embellished further with eye catching beading.

Clusters of ruffled garden roses and blossoms softened the whole look of the cake and gave a pretty, country garden feel.

The only thing that made cutting into the beautiful cake bearable was the irresistible flavours of the sponge inside – champagne, strawberry, Victoria sponge and even chocolate with salted caramel!

A Reception with a Party Atmosphere

Jo and Ryan knew that they wanted entertainment and music to be the key part of their day, as they are a couple who love a good party!

Singer Danny Litchfield came as a guest to the wedding but arranged for his band to play at the evening reception alongside Kristina Joy, a singer who even appeared on popular TV show The Voice!

Jo and Ryan adored seeing their guests have such an amazing time at their wedding and were thrilled that the party got going even before the starters had come out at the wedding breakfast!

So many guests even said that it was the best wedding they had ever been to – comments that definitely made all the hard planning work worth it!

To top it all off, everyone got to bust out their best dance moves as the evening party kicked off a north vs south dance off!

One things for certain, Jo and Ryan truly had their perfect wedding day and neither of them could stop smiling or laughing from start to finish.
