After a truly romantic proposal in Verona, Italy, Craig and Jayne spent one day shy of two years planning their beautiful wedding. They had a Shakespeare theme throughout and invited 107 guest to enjoy their Salvation Army wedding ceremony before inviting a further 60 guests to celebrate with them in the evening. The couple completed their wedding celebration by flying to New York and Florida for their honeymoon.
A Real Life Romeo & Juliet
This newlywed couple met in 2007 when Craig started going to the church that Jayne attended on a frequent basis. The couple got together in 2008 and booked their first holiday together in order to celebrate Jayne’s graduation from University. It was at that point that the couple became an item and spent the next two years spending every moment that they could together.
Craig knew in 2010 that it was time to propose. He planned a surprise trip to the romantic city of Verona in Italy, but unfortunately due to the ash cloud which cancelled a lot of flights in the UK during April that year, the couple made alternative travel arrangements at the last minute. Instead of flying, they drove for 5 hours, then took a ferry for 2 hours and drove again for another 14 hours to get to the perfect proposal destination.
Craig popped the question on Juliet’s balcony in Verona and it was magical! The next two years (minus one day) were spent planning a beautiful Shakespeare themed wedding!
