Hiyam and Tommy chose to have a short wedding ceremony and exchanged vows and wedding rings under an arch that the wedding team at the Nisala Arana had prepared and decorated for the occasion. Around 55 guests witnessed the wedding of Hiyam and Tommy, and guests had flown over from the UK and the Maldives especially for the occasion.
Seeing as their wedding ceremony was to take place in the afternoon, Hiyam wanted to wear a dress that would work well for her ceremony and for dancing in the evening. After having searched through lots of images online for the ideal dress, Hiyam eventually came up with a lace design that was created by a distant relative. She wore a pretty veil and bought a new pair of wedding shoes to complete her look. Tommy’s outfit was also designed bespoke, and was a light-weight material as the couple knew the weather would be hot in mid-September.
