The wedding reception was held at the same venue as the ceremony, on the SS Great Britain. Alex and Hilary decided to hold their wedding their as they visit Bristol all the time, and fell for the ship’s charm. They loved the fact it was a grand vessel, but slightly rough around the edges; Hilary felt that suited them perfectly!
The couple named all of their tables after ships to continue their nautical theme, and guests took their seats for a delicious meal of slow roasted vine tomato and basil soup, followed tarragon butter roasted chicken breast with mushroom and potato gratin. This was finished off by chocolate and orange fondant with almond praline. The guests remarked that it was the best food they’d ever had at a wedding.
After dinner, ship stewards were available to give tours to guests who wanted more information after hours!
