Helen tried on about 10 wedding dresses before deciding on which style suited her the best. Her Aunt Jean created her beautiful dress which was made from beaded lace. Helen and her Aunt drove all the way to Nottingham to buy the lace, and in the end Helen was so pleased her wedding dress because it was completely unique and there is not another one in the world like it.
Helen chose her sister as her maid of honour and three best friends from university as her bridesmaids. They lived in Leicester, St Helen's, London and Barcelona so co-ordinating fittings was a lot of fun! The dresses were floor length black satin, with a flat round halterneck, and had buttermilk gold sashes with bows to match Helen’s dress. Once again Aunt Jean made all of the bridesmaid dresses and the girls wore accessories from Monsoon and Marks & Spencer to add the extra touch of sparkle.
