Butterflies could be found adorning some of the wedding stationery too. The bride designed the table plan herself and decorated it with detailed butterflies. Each of the tables was named after Darren’s favourite football players, and the adult place cards were lilac with butterflies. The children had wooden footballs or butterflies with their names on which they could take home and hang in their room.
Before the wedding the bride and groom sent out invitations to their guests in the form of medieval scrolls, tied with ribbon. They stained the paper with used teabags and burnt the edges to give them an old look. They also used calligraphy and old English to add the information. The elaborate invites were finished off with a quote from Romeo and Juliet.
