After the wedding breakfast, which consisted of a traditional three course meal, it was time for the speeches. Gemma’s dad’s speech totally annihilated her, but it was very entertaining.
The couple then cut into a three-tiered fruit cake, which was made by the bride’s parents. It was decorated with elaborated sugar flowers which cascaded down the tiers. Gemma’s mum also made a clay cake topper of Gemma and Andy, who both work in IT, depicting them sitting back to back on their laptops.
After they cut the cake, the disco could begin. Hitchin Priory’s resident DJ got the party started, and the newlyweds shared their first dance to Jon Bon Jovi’s ‘(You Want to) Make a Memory’.
After their beautiful, autumn themed wedding, Andy and Gemma escaped to Turkey for a family holiday.
Gemma recommends that couples make the most of their friends’ and families talents as it can save a fortune when planning.
