Gail and Robin tied the knot at Barony Castle, in Eddlestone, near Peebles. After looking at numerous different venues, they both fell in love with luxurious castle, which is set in 25 acres of land. After their original plans to get married in the courtyard were hindered by bad weather, they were moved to one of the function suites. Gail, however, explained: “It didn’t matter whether we got married indoors or out, it was still our special day”.
70 guests attended the wedding ceremony, with 128 overall for the evening reception - which was also held in the castle. The Scottish theme continued with a haggis starter being served to guests, followed by shortbread and traditional Scottish sweet cranachan for dessert.
