Matthew and Francesca married in a Jewish wedding ceremony at Down Hall, which was officiated by a Chazan called Stephen Cotsen. The couple got married at 3pm, and ahead of their ceremony there was a Bedecken, which only their closest family members witnessed.
The bride entered the ceremony with her father as Pachelbel’s Canon in D played, and when Matthew entered with his mum it was to the sound of ‘All You Need is Love’ by the Beatles.
The Chazan, who is a singer from a synagogue, was able to sing throughout the ceremony, including the seven marriage blessings. As is custom, the couple married under a Chuppah which was made from the prayer shawl Matthew had worn for his Bar Mitzvah. As the ceremony went on, Francesca’s parents and Matthew’s mother and grandfather stood under the Chuppah with them.
‘It Must Be Love’ by Madness played as the newlyweds exited the ceremony.
