Emily and Robin ordered a white, three tier wedding cake from M&S which they then personalised by adding extra teal flowers and ribbon. They also purchased three M&S cutting bars to ensure they had enough wedding cake to go round; they also wanted a variety of cake flavours and this seemed like the perfect option. To top the wedding cake off, Robin ordered a set of bride and groom monkeys from eBay seller indigo28caketoppersuk to sit on the top, as monkeys have a personal meaning to his family. Edible, iced flowers were designed by Noah Bakery based in Lithuania. Most of the delicious wedding cake was eaten on the night.
Just before the wedding speeches Robin’s friends started placing bets on how long the best man’s speech would last. As word got round, more people wanted to be involved, increasing the cash prize. The winner was due to receive half the money, and the other half was donated to the MS Society; a charity close to Emily’s family. In the end, the winning guest kindly donated his winnings to the charity too!
Evening entertainment was provided by Twilight and the couple danced their first dance to ‘Rule the World’ by Take That. Bacon rolls and chips were served to guests at 11:30pm to keep their energy going throughout the evening.
The newlywed couple plan to spend their honeymoon in Singapore in the Maldives later this year as this is Robin’s dream honeymoon destination.
