The couple celebrated their wedding at the Roxburghe Hotel in Edinburgh. They chose the venue as the location was perfect – Emilie was happy to marry outside of France, Allan was happy to marry in Scotland and the events coordinator, Kayda, was easy to work with and could accommodate the couple’s requests!
They chose to decorate the venue with a teal blue colour scheme and a birdcage theme. Birdcages were used as the table centrepieces, draped with Scottish themed flowers, and were featured on the table plan, invitations and thank you cards. The tables were named after all the different places Emilie and Allan had lived together, in France and England.
Allan and Emilie wanted the food to reflect their cultures too, so they served haggis during the wedding breakfast, and the evening buffet featured six kilos of French cheese.
