Claire & Garry’s Real Wedding

Claire and Garry spent two years planning their perfect wedding and found that this length of time was less stressful and far better for saving money. They booked Ardencote Manor and celebrated their ceremony with 70 guests before being joined by a further 50 friends.  The couple danced their first dance to a romantic tune by Leona Lewis, spent their honeymoon in Santorini and were under budget at the end of their planning.

Wedding Cake Made by the Bride

Clever Claire designed and baked her own wedding cake.  Having had plenty of practice from making celebration cakes for family members and friends, she decided that she’d like to make her own wedding cake.  At first, Garry was concerned that it would be too much responsibility for his bride-to-be, but Claire was determined to make her dream cake – and it turned out to be amazing!

The coral coloured wedding cake, which featured two love birds at the top, included 2 layers of vanilla and 1 chocolate layer.  Claire was so proud of her cake that the couple only cut it later on in the evening so that it could be admired for as long as possible.  Every single slice of cake was eaten before the night was over and guests were even having seconds, so as to taste the second flavour.

The newlywed couple spent four days at home after their wedding and then flew off to the Greek island of Santorini for their honeymoon.  Having never been to this location before the couple weren’t sure what to expect, but they were hugely impressed and it certainly met their expectations.
