Roman and Christy got married in the Propstei, a converted 16th century monastery nestled in the Swiss mountains. The wedding ceremony was conducted in both English and Swiss German. The bride walked down the aisle with her father to the sound of ‘Wherever You Will Go’ by Charlene Soraia. Christy and Roman exchanged rings bought from De Beers.
After the wedding, 130 guests attended a traditional Swiss apero with a buffet and Prosecco, allowing them to mingle and pass on congratulations to the happy couple. During this time, they also honoured another Swiss tradition of releasing gift balloons. The idea is that each guest writes on a postcard the gift they intend to buy, and the bride and groom’s address. It is then released into the air, attached to the balloon. If it is found and posted back, the bride and groom can then claim the gift they were promised.
