Carla was in no rush to begin the hunt for a wedding dress, and left it up to her mum and sister to schedule appointments in bridalwear shops. When there were only seven months left until the big day, Carla finally went in search of her dress. She expected to wear a more untraditional tea-length dress, but after trying on a few styles, she changed her mind.
The bride went to four different shops and felt like she’d tried on hundreds of wedding dresses before she found the one. She loved a fishtail gown she tried, but felt like it didn’t suit her figure, so looked for another more A-line gown by the same designer, Essence of Australia. A friend of Carla’s customised the gown by changing the sash, and adding a lace bolero to match the lace detailing on the wedding dress.
