Beth and Simon ended up with a colour scheme of Red, White and Navy Blue (Union Jack & Australian Flag colours) with an overall theme of “Travel” as they were having a destination wedding. All of the guests turned Beth and Simon’s wedding into an opportunity to travel around the UK and Europe, so this was a great introduction for them.
The couple chose to serve canapés, a 3 course meal and a finger buffet for the evening when it came to wedding food and Beth quoted that ‘the food was all amazing.” In Australia for most wedding meals you are given 2 choices and have an “alternate drop” whereby every second person gets the same meal. The staff at the Christchurch Harbour Hotel had not actually heard of this idea previously, but arranged this to happen for the main course without any problems at all. All of the guests raved about the food and the newlywed couple were delighted with everything. The hotel couldn’t have done better!
