As the wedding was in the late afternoon, the reception was in the evening, which included a sit down meal and then a cocktail party. The 26 guests sat at one large table, rather than having the usual place cards, the couple chose to have a framed photo at each place setting that reflected something about that guest which gave a really personal touch and also worked as a great ice breaker for guests who had not met each other before. The long table had a black organza table runner scattered with crystals and lots of tea lights to give an intimate feel and to tie in with the theme of the day.
At the reception Angela’s father made a moving speech that brought a tear to her eye. Angela’s sister was Shaun’s ‘best woman’ and also gave a touching speech, made even more special because she was so close to both the bride and groom.
