Amanda and Michael first set eyes on each other on a summer night out in 2009. Friendship followed, which soon blossomed into love. He surprised her with a proposal on his birthday and the couple married in a traditional church wedding with 80 of their friends and family present.
Amanda was enjoying a night out with her girlfriends when they encountered Michael and his work colleagues in a bar. The two groups merged and spent much of the night chatting, especially Amanda and Michael.
The chance encounter led to a friendship which developed into love as the summer progressed. Michael surprised Amanda with a proposal on his birthday whilst they were on a minibreak in London. They were dining in the Galvin La Chapelle restaurant when Michael got down on one knee at the end of the main course.
He knew that Amanda always loved her grandmother’s engagement ring, so he had it rebuilt as it was very old, and presented Amanda with it. The excited couple spent the next year planning their tasteful and traditional wedding, which took place at Lympne Castle.
