Alison and Gary became husband and wife in a ceremony at their local village church, Kenn Church, at 12.30pm. They were married by Gordon Percy, who is the vicar at the church in the village Alison grew up in.
The bride walked down the aisle on her father’s arm to the sound of Pachelbel’s ‘Canon’. The choir sang ‘Such Love’ as she arrived at the church, a song she’d requested to help calm her nerves. As Gary and Alison are both musical, they opted for a lot of songs and music at their wedding. Alison’s harp teacher played as they signed the register, and friends and family members sang songs and hymns too.
Readings were performed by Alison’s aunt, her best friend and Gary’s uncle. The couple exchanged rings bought from the jeweller who reconditioned her vintage engagement ring, Geoff Cooper in Torquay.
