Gary and Alison exchanged numbers when they bumped into each other on the bus one day – they knew each other as he worked for her father, but they’d only been passing acquaintances, until now. After six years together, Gary asked Alison to marry him whilst they were enjoying a sunny holiday in Egypt.
He got down on both his knees on the balcony, whilst they enjoyed drinks on the last night of a fantastic holiday. It was so romantic and unexpected, and Alison described the proposal as a ‘long awaited delight’. He presented her with a stunning 1920s engagement ring which he’d had reconditioned by a local jeweller, Geoff Cooper, based in Torquay.
The couple got engaged in March 2012, and got married just over six months later, in front of just 32 guests.
