Getting Married in the Seychelles
The Seychelles is a collection of 115 little islands, all beautiful in their own right. The miles of white sandy beach, stunning sunsets and fabulous weather all make the Seychelles a fantastic wedding and honeymoon destination. Get married on the beach in the Seychelles or choose a luxury resort to host your memorable and very beautiful celebration. If as a couple you enjoy diving and water sports then the Seychelles is a great location. From seclusion to fantastic weather and unforgettable memories, the Seychelles and the staff at the lovely resorts will provide you with a wedding that you could only ever dream of.
A church wedding without a civil ceremony is not recognised as being legal and the parties must therefore contract a civil wedding prior to the religious ceremony.
Couples wishing to organise their own wedding must apply to the Seychelles Civil Status Office in Victoria on Mahe for a civil ceremony and the relevant church body for the religious ceremony.
It is advisable that the wedding is planned at least two months in advance to allow for the processing of documentation.
