About Alexa Loy Photography:
“I’m a happy, creative soul in love with the little things in life that make up the big picture and for me it’s all about the love and the light. I strive to make beautiful, thoughtful images that tell the story of my clients’ weddings. This is my first year as a wedding photographer and I adore shooting couple’s special days. It feels like such an honour and I pride myself on building excellent relationships with my clients and love to have fun during the couples portraits. The way I love to photograph is about connecting with my subject, exclaiming with delight when I find beautiful light, and finding interesting ways of looking. I love to find the uniqueness in all the clients I work with and it’s this that drives my creativity.”
“Recently I worked on a styled shoot showcasing Charlotte Bridal’s dresses at Drink Shop Do, a vintage cafe in Kings Cross. We went for a fun and quirky theme and the shoot was a great success, which will be featured in the next issue of Unique Bride magazine.”
Alexa’s take on the winning picture:
“Claire and Edd live in Geneva but travelled home to Cornwall for their wedding. They hired a steam train for their guests but I wanted to capture time with them alone and they shared this intimate moment together. I feel this image creates a feeling of old time romance, of saying goodbye on a station platform and of travel and movement as they will be returning abroad soon. I love how the viewer’s eye is lead through the carriage, the light streaming through the window, illuminating the couple and their embrace almost creates a heart shape.”
