About Jay Archer Floral Design:
“I am a wedding florist and stylist based in Basingstoke covering the South East of England, including Hampshire, Surrey, London, Berkshire and West Sussex. I grow a lot of my own flowers and herbs for use in my arrangements and always grow a different flower for each of my couples — I also like to use unusual elements in my work such as fruit, vegetables, wood and fabric flowers. I work closely with my couples during the planning process, providing sketches and moodboards along the way to help them visualise the end result, as well as inviting my couples to the New Covent Garden flower market with me so they can ‘meet’ their flowers. Within the 18 months since I started my business (with 5 previous years of experience and education), I have become a preferred supplier to prestigious venues, including the Garden Museum, London; Bignor Park, Sussex; Nonsuch Mansion, Surrey and high profile properties under the Parallel Venues umbrella, including Cams Hall, Hampshire and Fetcham Park, Surrey; the latter of which I worked with to style their highly publicised ‘Tea on the Terrace’ event.”
What Jay said about the winning bouquet arrangement:
“I chose this image of a floor length trailing bouquet I created as I believe it demonstrates skill, originality and a unqiue take on floral design. The bouquet is completely wired and took about 6 hours to make. It shows my love of texture and unusual plant material, and although unique, it gives a nod to the classic shower bouquet shape and the current trend for gold, which you see in the gold leafed succulents. I really feel this image encapsulates everything that Jay Archer Floral Design represents; quirky, unusual and, I’d like to think, setting trends not following!”
