Wedding Bouncy Castles?

HappyRedDiamonds912, 7 of August of 2018 at 10:08 Posted on Planning 0 2

Hello

Our wedding venue has a nice outdoor space and we're struggling to decide what to use it for. We're considering a bouncy castle but wondered if anyone has experience of these at weddings - is it worth it? do people use it? Is this a bad idea because of the chance of injuries? Or a great idea for photo opportunities?

Any advice and guidance appreciated!

Also - any suggestions for an alternative to a bouncy castle?

I know a couple of people who have had bouncy castles, and it's gone down very well with kids and grown ups alike - we're looking into hiring for ours too!

One friend had some lovely photos of her and her groom on the castle, it was fab!

A couple of things to bear in mind - make sure the company has insurance, and if you are letting kids use it, make sure that either the company will provide a person to watch over them, or make it clear that parents have to stay with their kids - most companies will tell you about this anyway.

If you decide not to go for this, the wedding I went to on the weekend had photoboards - the ones where you put your face through, like at the beach!

We're also looking at a giant jenga, connect four, swingball and a croquet set.

    Hope this helps! X

Thank you! Yes, both sets of parents suggested garden games - particularly ones which don't require much preparation or organisation like connect 4. We've still got over a year until the wedding so I think we will have a few debates before we decide! The garden games are definitely a good idea as they work as icebreakers.

A couple of tips for people who have a bouncy castle. Don't inflate it until you have all the photos that you want of the kids because once they are on it its almost impossible to get them off for a photo, and then they are bright red faced hair everywhere from somersaults and nice outfit a mess.

During the photos you can use it as a bargaining tool (bribe) that it will be inflated if they behave for the photos - works much better than chocolate
