Chairs...eeeeeeesssshhhhhh

peggy19373, 27 of September of 2012 at 13:04 Posted on Planning 0 10

I need some help!!! Basically, me and my O.H are having a wedding on a budget (a very small budget) and in the hall we have hired are RED stackable school-type chairs..they are hideous. We have 80 guests and the cost of hiring chairs is beyond what we can afford to spend...and in fact chair covers (although I haven't actually found any that would fit over the montrosities) are almost as expensive as hiring chairs. Our colour theme is a sort of coral pink and ivory so as you can imagine big red hunks of plastic are hardly in-keeping. Any ideas??? Oh, and I am in the Whitstable, Kent area.

Vic ?

What about the stretchy chair covers? Our chair cover lady said they will fit almost any chair! We are having them they are called spandex covers and they are costing us £1.30 per cover & sash.

Good point. In that case you should get them to pay for the paint and maybe slip you a few quid for helping Smiley smile

How about ringing round a few other church halls or village halls etc ask them what chairs they have, if you like them offer them £50 plus a deposit if you pick them up and drop them off...get a mate with a van and pick them up and take them back??? Worth a try...when we were doing an event and needed some tables a church lent us them for free, we didn't even leave a deposit!! X
