Another flash the dress, but also with some extra info please!

MrsWoozle, 3 of March of 2009 at 20:27 Posted on Planning 0 47

Hello Everyone, it's been a while since I last posted, but my big sis has just got engaged and so I've been chatting with her about dresses.

Would you share a piccie of your dress and tell me the brand and rough cost of it? She is finding it hard to work out how much she needs to spend, where to shop, and in particular what she could get for less than £1000.

Thanks so much for your help as always!

FYI this was mine, it's a Mori Lee and was £800

Might've known Lyns would get there first?❤️

Mine is Ronald Joyce although is not from a current collection as I bought it from ebay. It was brand new with tags still attached and with the alterations I'm having done (taken up and corset back put in) cost £500.

    Fitting on monday YAY!!?

Mine was about £950 but that was after my mum haggled 20% off! I understand that it's since gone up to £1300 to order now.

It was a David Emmanuel design (at Berketex) when I ordered it, but apparently David Emmanuel have dropped the design, so it's actually been made by Rosetta Nicolini.

Summers I might have known you would have said that and then been next in line! ?

I think I'm even beating Zippy on the amount of flashes I've done recently but I think for the amount of sparkles I have I need to flash more than normal! ?

That's fab you have a fitting on Monday. How come so soon? Mine isn't until 17th April.

    ??

Decided to get it out of the way whilst in a bit of a lull. Not planning on doing any major dieting or anything! Also the lady said she was glad I took it in now as if I had brought it in during her busy season she wouldn't have enough room for anyone elses dress?

Will be in ivory with elbow length chiffon floaty sleeves. And yes it is a bridesmaid dress , much to my mothers delight as she was paying !!! Was £185. So that is a tip if you are looking and on a budget.

Can't flash mine as OH in room and he might see, but it's Ronald Joyce 57045 and cost £750, plus £200ish alterations including having straps added.

My budget was iro of £1000, and I found it pretty easy to stay within budget tbh, so long as she doesn't go to shops that have lots over £1000 she should be fine.

Thanks so much for all the replies! Some amazing dresses on here with brands that I didn't know! And so many of them for less than a grand, I expect my sister will feel quite a bit more inspired after seeing these.

Liz - it's good to see you too, I hope all is well with you!

If anyone else would like to post their dress it would be much appreciated x

Here's mine. It's a Ronald Joyce and it was £895. I also had to buy an underskirt for it which was £80ish and I had to have them shortened which cost £60.

And I get to wear it for real on Saturday!!!

Mine was by Rosa Clara (never heard of the designer until I bought it).

RRP £1800 but I bought the shop sample for £900 (apparently no one had ever tried it on as there was a dodgy lace back to front jacket with it that put everyone off).

I got the neckline and sash added though.
