My pledge for June

Rod, 3 of June of 2013 at 11:13 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 16

Is to stop drinking.

I have been on a total bender the past few weeks and shamed and scared myself into cutting out booze on Friday night when I was taken home in an ambulance after collapsing at the train station after a ridiculous amount to drink. My H was embarrassed and scared in equal parts.

So..I, Rodder McRodderson of Hitched.co.uk, do pledge to not allow a drop of alcohol to pass my lips in the month of June 2013, for my health and my sanity.

As you were.

    Scary times, Rod.

Don't beat yourself up - it's all been completely understandable but I really admire you for deciding to stop for a month.

    We're all behind you! x

Rod, I was in quite a similar state last Sunday! Drank copious amounts of wine and cannot remember the drive home, cannot remember seeing my MIL into the house, cannot remember getting in the house whatsoever - it bl00dy scared me to be honest.

Good luck and hope you feel a little better today.

Ah Rodders don't beat yourself up lovely, we've all had an alcohol related trip to A&E haven't we?!

You can do it. My June pledge is to give up crisps (harder for me than it sounds).

You've had a totally shite time of late. It's totally understandable for you to go a bit off the rails for a while. Kudos to you for nipping it in the bud now though. Good luck for this month. xx

I think you should be proud of yourself for giving up and realising its causing you a problem.

Bet you had a raging hangover saturday then!

? Been there more than once, hope you're ok. Huge well done on recognising it though, and good luck for dry June. I'm doing dry July, this month is simply far too busy for me to consider it. Hope you're not beating yourself up too much, life has been tough for you lately, it's only natural to go a bit off the rails.

Hats off to you for stopping this early before it becomes a more frequent occurrence.

& I agree, stopping booze & crisps at the same time? ? You need some pleasure in this life, don't give up the crisps just yet!

Don't be too hard on yourself about it. Everyone has bender periods in their life where they go a bit too far. Earlier this year I had a period of doing this and it resulted in various injuries, stealing from a supermarket and running around my estate in my knickers.

Best of luck with it though xxxx

Maybe you should save allt he money you would normally spend on the booze and treat yourself to something at the end of the month?

Thanks guys. I'm really not a big drinker normally, so this is a real wake up call.

I really appreciate all your responses xx
