Pet Friendly Wedding Venues?

KirstyBee, 28 of February of 2013 at 11:35 Posted on Planning 0 11

Hello Everyone,

Does anyone know of any venues in the East Sussex area that are pet friendly?

Not big animals or anything, just my dog. I'm toying with the time of year and knowing the British weather anyway, it would need to be a place that is outdoor-to-indoor, just in case.

It might be a long-shot as a quick search on google hasn't come up with much, but if anyone has heard of anywhere that I can check out that would be fantastic!

Thanks!

Soon-to-be Mrs. Welling ?

xx

Hello, instead of perhaps searching for specific wedding venues that allow pets (don't think this would be something they'd advertise to be honest) how about you look for venues that would be suitable in the area you want, then contact them and ask about allowing your dog.

I've seen pets at weddings before but only really for photographs outside the church or whatever, then they were taken away. Not heard of them being there the whole time at the reception etc.

It's not helpful because I'm in Devon but our hotel has 'dog friendly' on their website. Maybe you could look at hotels you like and see if it says that.

These are the sort of thing that comes up http://www.lovetoescape.com/rrps/holiday_properties/england/east_sussex/all_tourist_regions/all_towns/hotels/pet_friendly-1.html Not sure how good they are for your area though.

Echo what always the bride said, I have seen dogs at weddings before but never in the church and never all the way through the wedding breakfast.

Find a venue you like and then ask about your dog.I have seen them as the ring holder

    This one was this December

My dog was with me from the night before right the way through to the first dance. She was in the ceremony and wedding breakfast.

What kind of venue did you have? I'm assuming the easiest thing would be to have it outdoors which from what I've seen is the country house kind of place.

Thanks for all the replies everyone, even if he was there just up until the reception that would be lovely. Have him tied on a stretchy lead or something hehe

Nope I had a 4 star country house hotel! She stayed in the suite with me and everything was indoors!

It's a marquee venue with rooms onsite , but try Cobbe Place near Lewes. They have about 4 dogs & have said our Westie is welcome when we tie the knot next May. He's a huge part of our lives, so important he's with us. x

    Hello,

Another option might be to organise a 'dog's escort' for the day and then get in touch with venues you like and say to them that the dog will be supervised full time throughout the whole day, even when you're busy cutting the cake/whatever else.

It's not in your area but Hill Place, Swanmore SO32 2PY welcomes dogs.... and pretty much anything else that most venues would balk at!! Smiley smile

Hi Soon to be Mrs Welling. I'm Claire and we're getting married June 2014 at The Gallivant hotel in Camber sands, East Sussex. It is dog friendly and we can even have our pretty little cocker spaniel in our ceremony. They can accommodate her in our room and all we have to do is make sure we've a relative checking in on her if she's in our room. Let me know if you won't any more info. Pet friendly was definitly one of our criteria when picking a venue and turned out to be the only place we saw. Xxx
