Can anybody recommend a good website that gives useful information on essay writing?

I've never written an essay before and I need to do a short one for a course I'm doing and haven't a clue where to begin.

    I don't know any sites, but if you're googling, it's essay not essey. You could try the Open Univeristy website? They may do hints and tips?

    Usual basic guideline is make sure you have an introduction, then a main section, then a conclusion. Introduction should set out clearly what you're going to talk about, main section should do it, and conclusion should pull it all together - no new information. Intro and Conclusion together shoulnd't be more than about 20% of the total length.
