NZ breakfast TV - *May be sensitive for women with moustaches*

Waaaah I actually found that funny. He seems a right character!

Omg. funny i suppose but i think it was inappropriate to read that out and be offensive to a guest on air. can you imagine Philip Scholfield saying "omg, what a fat arse that last guest had" or something? There'd be an uproar.

The poor woman must be mortified (not to mention stinging raw from her recent hair removal treatment)

I can see your point but also think if you are a woman who goes on TV with a moustache it would be unrealistic not to expect comments about it. To be fair he did just read out viewers comments, to start with anyway.

But why is it unrealistic not to expect comments? If that is breakfast tv then surely a certain level of professionalism should be expected. I would not only be mortified but would seriously be considering a complaint because it's rude let alone anything else.

Paul Henry is fab at saying what everyone else ignores. He only read out the viewers comments after all. If you'd seen the full interview with the woman it was hard to concentrate on what she had to say as I was too busy checking out her facial hair. If I was going on national TV I'd make sure I looked presentable, including waxing my upper lip if necessary.

I'm sorry, but I felt a bit of pee when I laughed too hard! My fave bit:

Female presenter: 'there are many medical reasons in New Zealand why women grow moustaches'

Paul: 'Start a group... get some wax...'

I suppose life gets taken slightly less seriously in NZ but again, if you're a woman, with a moustache (which she was, that's just factual), people will notice and snigger/comment/look/point, it's just human nature to note and comment on the unusual.

I once saw a woman with a moustache so verdant she trimmed it, I saw it a good 12 years ago but remember like it was yesterday, it's just not something you see very often.

A friend of mine, for some reason, has got together with a girl who has a beard. Not just a couple of hairs, but a full beard. We all call her (not to her face, of course) Brutus.
