The Best Ski Honeymoons
Who says a honeymoon has to involve a tropical beach? If you’re a snow fan, or you’ve always dreamed of a winter wonderland wedding, a ski honeymoon can be just as memorable and romantic as a sunshine resort.
Last year we picked five of the best places for a ski honeymoon, from the Alps to Finland and Canada. And here are five new additions for a spectacular honeymoon in the snow.
1. Villa Rose, Samoëns
A boutique hotel in the French Alps, Villa Rose is right in the heart of a historic Savoyard village with a ski advisor and concierge who’ll arrange anything from mountain picnics to hot air balloon rides. With just five luxurious en-suite bedrooms, you can book B&B or include dinner, as well as splurge on exclusive villa rental. Designed to make you feel like you’re staying in someone’s home, there’s 265km of slopes plus cobbled streets lined with chocolate shops and patisseries.
2. Hotel Pashmina, Val Thorens
The new five-star Hotel Pashmina is an ingenious mix of accommodation so you can book hotel rooms, catered apartments or private catered chalets. But the icing on the cake is the glass igloo on the roof where you can sleep under the stars. Opening in December 2015, there are two restaurants - plus the chance to eat at another remote high-altitude restaurant - and a big L’Occitane Spa. You’ve also got the world’s largest ski area on the doorstep. Book with Crystal Ski.
3. Chalet Shar Pei
The best thing about a ski honeymoon is that it provides a great excuse to splash out on a huge luxury chalet (even if you’ll have the whole place to yourself!). And the new four-bedroom Chalet Shar Pei in Val d’Isere definitely qualifies. As well as its own indoor swimming pool and hammam, there’s a huge terrace balcony looking out to the Alps, and a private chef to create meals just for you, including recipes created by 2014’s MasterChef winner. It’s also steps away from the chairlift. Book with Scott Dunn.
4. La Ferme du Lac Vert, Morzine
In the Haute Savoie region of the French Alps, this 19th century farmhouse-turned-luxurious-chalet is perfect for couples. It has a hot tub on the shared terrace, great food and breathtaking views. Part of the Canopy & Stars Peaks collection, pick the handcrafted double bed and rolltop bath in Pleney, or Montriond has its own private balcony, plus there are free transfers to lifts serving a whopping 650km of piste.

5. Little Zebra, Meribel
Small chalets are always tricky to find so honeymoon couples will love the new additions to VIP Ski’s collection, including the brand new penthouse suites in Avoriaz and Little Zebra in Meribel. Due to open in time for the 2016 ski season, Little Zebra’s hot tub, huge balcony and three-course meals guarantee some luxury après-ski.
